Essential Question(s):
How can we effectively collect mathematical data on the evaporation (actual & estimated) of 3 different liquids?

Predictions will vary. Possible prediction may be as follows:
Math: I predict that mL will be the best unit of measurement. I will use a t-chart organizer to gather data. I believe that a line graph will be the best method to show the progression of evaporation for 3 separate liquids.
Science: I predict that water will evaporate quickest because it is less residual; orange juice will take the longest because it is very residual.

Research Plan: (students make their own research plan, possible plan listed below)
1. Each group creates a chart/survey in which to record findings
2. Students pour 50 mL each of 3 liquids in 3 separate graduated cylinders
3. Groups are to chart the following daily:
a) amount of liquid left in graduated cylinder
b) amount that has evaporated
4. Students choose the graphing method that most effectively displays their data
5. Each student writes a separate conclusion based on the findings in their data
